Mukesh Ambani: Birth, Early Life, and Family -

Mukesh Ambani was born as Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani on April 19, 1957, in Aden (now Yemen) in Dhirubhai Ambani and Kokilaben Ambani. Mukesh Ambani spent a year in Yemen and in 1958, Dhirubhai Ambani returned to India to start a spice and textile business.

 A few years later, as the family's financial situation improved, Mukesh Ambani's father bought a 14-storey apartment called 'Sea Wind' in Colaba.

Mukesh Ambani: Personal Health -

In 1985, Mukesh Ambani married Nita Ambani. The couple has two sons - Anant Ambani and Akash Ambani and a daughter  Isha Ambani. Dhirubhai Ambani attended a dance party where Nita took part and later arranged for the two of them to get married.

The family lives in a 27-story private apartment building - Antilia, which costs $ 1 bn USD. The building has 600 staff members to maintain and has three helipads, a 160-car garage, a private movie theater, a swimming pool and a gymnasium.

Mukesh Ambani: Education -

Mukesh Ambani graduated from Hill Grange High School in Peddar Road, Mumbai with his brother Anil Ambani. He was admitted to St. Xavier's College, Mumbai to complete Higher Education. Mukesh Ambani holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from the Institute of Chemical Technology. He was admitted to Stanford University to pursue an MBA but dropped out to help his father Reliance. Ambani was heavily influenced by two of his teachers who taught him to think outside the box - William F. Sharpe and Man Mohan Sharma.

Mukesh Ambani: Work -

In 1981, after returning to India, Mukesh Ambani helped his father build Reliance Industries Limited. The family business at this time has expanded into the refining industries, the cooking of petrochemicals, retail and telecommunications. Its subsidiary, Reliance Retail Ltd. is the largest retailer in India. Mukesh Ambani also owns the IPL team Mumbai Indians and owns the Indian Super League, a football league in India.

In 1980, India under the leadership of Indira Gandhi opened the doors of the PFY (polyester filament yarn) manufacturing facility in the private sector. Dhirubhai Ambani applied for a license to develop a PFY plant and faced stiff competition from Tatars, Girls and others. Outside of the competition, Dhirubhai received a ‘License Raj’. In 1980, he called Mukesh Ambani to help him build his business. Rasikbhai Meswani was the company's manager at the time and Mukesh Ambani reported to him daily.

The company was set on the principle that everyone should contribute to the business and not to selected people. In 1985, Rasikbhai died, and the following year in 1986, Mukesh Ambani's father suffered a stroke. It was at this point that the entire burden was placed on Mukesh Ambani, the eldest son of the family. At the age of 24, Ambani was assigned to build a Patrganga petrochemical plant.

On July 6, 2002, Mukesh's father died of a second stroke. This disagreement among the brothers as Dirubhai did not leave any will to the state distribution. Their mother, Kokilaben Ambani, resolved the dispute by splitting the company into two. Mukesh Ambani acquired Reliance Industries Limited and Indian Petrochemicals Corporation Limited.

Under the leadership of Mukesh Ambani, the company built the world's largest petroleum refinery in Jamnagar, India and could produce 660,000 barrels per day in 2010.

In December 2013, Mukesh Ambani announced a joint venture with Bharti Airtel to set up digital 4G network infrastructure in India. On June 18, 2014, he announced an investment of Rs 1.8 trillion for all businesses over the next three years and launched 4G broadband services on December 27, 2015, internally.

In 2016, Jio launched his own 4G smartphone under a brand called 'LLY'. The smartphone was the third largest smartphone in India that year. In September of that year, Jio 4G was introduced commercially.

In January 2018, he was named 18 by the Forbe on the list of the richest man in the world. In 2018, he surpassed Jack Ma, becoming the richest man in Asia with $ 44.3 billion. Outside of North America and Europe, Mukesh Ambani is the richest man in the world. In 2015, the Hurun Research Institute of China ranked Mukesh Ambani as fifth among India's aides. On November 11, 2020, Mukesh Ambani took third place in the seventh edition of the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2020 with a donation of 8 458 crores.
